Happy Hours: Friday Night A/V Club

Join us for an unforgettable evening of live music, community, and film as Arts Amplified, City Center Live, and the West Virginia International Film Festival come together for a special Friday night in downtown Charleston, hosted by Here KeKe.

The evening begins at 5:00 PM at City Center Live in Slack Plaza, where you can unwind after work with live performances by Huntington artists Here KeKe and Massing. Grab some food and drinks from nearby restaurants and bars, bring them to the park, and enjoy games including cornhole, Connect Four, chess, and Jenga as we kick off the weekend with live music in the heart of downtown Charleston.

Then, at 7:30 PM, the celebration moves just down the block to Park Place Cinemas for the Friday Night A/V Club Film Showcase, a celebration of West Virginia’s independent music and film scene featuring original short films, music videos, and regional filmmakers and musicians.

The film program features the Charleston premiere of White Lie, directed by Harrison McGinnis and winner of Best in Show Short Film at the Appalachian Film Festival, along with the world premiere of Cottontail by regional filmmaker Isa McMullen.

The evening will also feature a special screening of Happy 90th Birthday., Here KeKe’s debut album companion film and an official selection of the Appalachian Film Festival’s feature category.

Rounding out the showcase will be a curated selection of music videos from regional artists including Massing, Dinosaur Burps, Andy Park, and more, bringing the worlds of music and filmmaking together on the big screen.
